We end the season on a high.COOL.
The match started of with mainly our first team in their known positions which began to show when the team work of passing the ball to player to player but of course this did not continue all match or even the first half.
When Rhys Daltrey scored the first goal the boys just seemed to get better.this lead to jack Hart scoring after he was placed in the position of mid-field.(this was a really great goal)
Some way through the first half a substitution was made with Joshua Hayden-Fernandez being placed in central mid-field in place of Owen Palmer,This seemed to be a correct move with Joshua scoring two goals but it was noticed that without Owen on the pitch the ball was more in the middle of the pitch with no one running and taking on the oposition so back on came Owen.
For some reason Owen could not get the ball into where he wanted it,in the GOAL.This was even though he was having some really good tries.(Unlucky Owen)
Just Before Half time Harlow scored to make the score 4-1.
At the start of the second half the team was completly swapped around for Example Bradley Molloy was taken out of Goal with Rhys Daltrey being placed as our goalkeeper and with most players playing in completly different position than what they are used to Elsenham just could not put the ball into the goal even when there was a mass scramble inside the goal mouth.
Unfortunatly Kyle Belton Handled the ball inside the penalty area (more like ball to hand).Harlow were awarded a penalty with Rhys in goal who did go the correct way but was to low, score now 4-2.
One last word to say WELL DONE and a big thankyou to all of the players and their parents.
Your manager is very proud andhe asked he should continue as manager next season. All said yes (DAMN )
MAN OF THE MATCH was awarded to Joshua Hatden-Fernandez.
Epping v Elsenham  - 9 March 2008
Venue:
Stonnards Hill
Score:
Epping 5-1 Elsenham
Scorers:
Alex best
Well what do we say other than well done to Epping.
But hey we need to congratulate elsenham on some really good team work through out the whole game. All things seemed to start off so well while Elsenham were holding on to a level score even though the ball semed to be in Elsenhams half more than in Eppings half for the first ten minutes but when Elsenham did break with the ball there was some really good passing especially from owen Palmer ,Rhys Daltrey,Alex Best, Louis Roberts and Albert Greenhaugh.
at Halftime with the score at 3-0 to Epping the elsenham under 8s were told by manager Gary to keep their heads up high and fight for the ball. This is what they done but with Epping scoring yet another the boys kept going with Callum Parris and Jack Hart doing some outstanding defending.
Finally the ball came to Owen Palmer from Rhys Daltrey who passed forward to Louis Roberts in style who then crossed the ball as if he knew exactly where the ball was needed for Alex Best to bang home Elsenhams well deserved 1 goal.
MAN OF THE MATCH was awarded to Callum Parris for his continuous defending ability and skill.

Well Done boys keep up the team work and the winning will be back as we know it.
Elsenham v Saturn  - 2 March 2008
Venue:
Elsenham Rec
Score:
Elsenham 2-5 Saturn
Scorers:
Alex Best,Owen Palmer
Well another off day from the under 8s.
At first all looked good when Elsenham went 1 up from a good peice of team work by several players which lead to Alex Best slotting home the ball.1-0
Within 5 minuets Saturn were back level after some bad defending by Elsenham.1-1
Next up after a short while Saturn were awarded a corner which lead to Elsenhams main team player normally handling the ball inside the penalty area.PENALTY to Saturn 1-2.
Saturn seemed to keep the pressure on and Elsenham just seemed to deflate as time went on and when the score was at 1-4 things did pick up slightly when Owen Palmer took a good shot at goal that ended up in the back of the goal from a slight deflection but hey
really a good goal .But yet again Elsenhams Heads went down and they seemed to deflate yet again when Saturn scored their 5th.
WELL DONE to referee Patrick Molloy on his first time of refereeing.Plus MAN OF THE MATCH was finally awarded after some debate
from Manager Gary to Dennis Earle.
Well done boys but please try to get the team play back that we know we can do.
SO COME ON
Harlow Town U7 Whites v Elsenham  - 24 Febuary 2008
Venue:
Tanys Dell School
Score:
Harlow Town U7 Whites 1-5 Elsenham
Scorers:
Rhys Daltrey (2),Owen Palmer(2),Alex best (1)
Another wonderful win from a team that seems as they are turning a good corner where team work is involved.
This game started off with Harlow Town taking the kickoff,in went the two forwards for Elsenham with the ball now in our possesion
the good team work started with passing from player to player,it looked great.
our first goal came from Rhys Daltrey as he was in front of goal with the ball and fed the ball passed the Harlow Towns keepers left hand side.0-1.
After a short while Elsenham won a corner which was taken by Owen Palmer who swung the ball across the front of the Harlow Town
goal and did actually hit a Harlow player and went in but the goal was awarded to Owen.0-2.
Next came a piece of bad defending by Elsenham with confusion in our own penalty area and Harlow Town scoring.1-2.
From this with manager Gary rasing his voice to raise the tempo back into swing Alex Best done what he can do best and scored another.1-3.
Now was halftime with some good words from the manager asking for the team work to continue. This is exactly what happened especially from Owen Palmer and Rhys Daltrey both passing the ball to players with looking to see where players are and to where these players are running to..................NICE PLAY BOYS............
This play lead to Owen Palmer scoring yet another goalto make the score 1-4 and the team play just kept showing with about 10 minuetes to play when Owen took a quite long shot at goal with Rhys Daltrey finally helping the ball cross the line.scor now 1-5.

WELL DONE BOYS your manager is PROOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUDD of you all.
Elsenham v Risden Wood U7  - 17 Febuary 2008
Venue:
Elsenham Rec
Score:
Elsenham 9-0 Risden Wood U7
Scorers:
Joshua Fernandez-Hayden2,Alex Best3,Bradley Molloy2,Dennis Earle1,Owen Palmer1
From the start a first team mixture of players were selected and the goals started to flow from about 3 to 4 minuetes into
the game with the first goal coming from Joshua Fernandez-Hayden after some good team work of passing the ball.
More goals came before half time but from who scored the goals in order was hard to keep note as manager Gary was actually the Ref for the first half. When the whistle was blown for half time the score was Elsenham 5-0 Risden Wood.
The second half was started with a new referee of Gavin Earle who if he had a Yellow and Red card he may of used the Red card on manager Gary after some joking about, but hey well done to all of the team especially the goal scorers and the MAN OF THE MATCH
which was awarded to Kyle Belton who does not play many matches but today nade some very good defensive tackles.
Goals were score byJoshua Fernandez-Hayden (2) Alex Best (3) Dennis Earle (1) Owen Palmer (1) the other two came from Bradley Molloy who is normally the goalkeeper but wanted to play out on pitch in the second half.So from this Rhys Daltrey went in goal for the whole of the second half with a display of some good saves.
manager Gary Daltrey would like to congratulate all of the players for todays result especially Owen Palmer for his team work through out the game plus would also like to congratulate Risden Wood for a superb effort.WELL DONE TO ALL WHO PLAYED TODAY
Langley Colts Stallions v Elsenham  - 10 Febuary 2008
Venue:
Church Langley
Score:
Langley Colts Stallions 2-0 Elsenham
Well what to say other than good try lads and to think that after the match the Langley Colts manager came up to me and said how well we had improved since our last game playing them.BRILLIANT
The match started off so well with nearly all of the play being played in the langley Colts half, this was until our play just seemed to vanish before our eyes with people out of position and to find ourselves 1-0 down. This was totally against the play.
But aye the boys kept their heads up and unfortunatly shortly after half time we found ourselves 2-0 down.At this point it could be noticed that some of the boys were a little tired and this is obviously due to school holidays and guess what the man of the match of our last game Bradley Molloy pulled out a number of superb stops to deny Langley Colts from getting further in front.
Well Done boys but a big well done to Bradley who again was awarded MAN OF THE MATCH.

Come on boys we can pull our season back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Newhall Rangers v Elsenham  - 3 Febuary 2008
Venue:
The Link
Score:
Newhall Rangers 2-5 Elsenham
Scorers:
Rhys Daltrey 3, Owen Palmer 2
Well what do i say other than well done boys.
From the kickoff at 10:15 the game was in the favour of Newhall Rangers as after just a few minutes Elsenham gave away a corner from which Newhall Rangers scored as the ball deflected off of our defender Callum Parris and into the goal.
This meant the score was 1-0 until some way through the first half when Owen Palmer took a shot at goal with Newhall Rangers keeper saving but could not keep hold of the ball and as Rhys Daltrey followed up on to the ball as they are being told to do he put the ball into the back of practically an open goal,1-1.This was the halftime score.
In the halftime briefing from Manager Gary the team were told keep up the hard work and keep chasing the ball.
So the second half was started with Elsenham kicking off and the play was just superb with Rhys Daltrey scoring his second,2-1.This lead to Newhall Rangers picking up their game a bit more and them scoring quite a good goal,2-2.
At 2-2 Manager Gary was feeling this game looks to be heading for a draw but up popped Owen Palmer with a quite stunning shot and yes Elsenhams third goal 3-2.YES.
Again along came Rhys Daltrey who seemed to be in the right place at the right time when the ball came into the penalty area and people missing, Rhys just got his toe to the ball to send it towards the goal but it did look like it was not going to make it across the line,
but guess what it did,4-2 was now the score with Rhys Daltrey scoring yet another wonderful hattrick.WELL DONE TO RHYS DALTREY.
This was not the end as Owen Palmer was fed the ball right from Elsenhams goalkeeper Bradley Molloys drop kick and bang yet another stunning goal, 5-2 which was now and the final score.
MAN OF THE MATCH was awarded to Bradley Molloy for some really good goalkeeping today. For example one Newhall Rangers player
was heading towards scoring being one on one with Bradley but Bradley must be listening to his dad who it is understood used to be a goal keeper as Bradley came out using his area and making himself big in front of the Newhall Rangers player who fortunately for Elsenham shot wide of the goal.
GOOD GAME BOYS you all played brilliant today.
Elsenham v Markhall  - 27 January 2008
Venue:
Elsenham Rec
Score:
Elsenham 0-2 Markhall
Well where do i start ?
The Elsenham under 8s were absolutely fabulos in this match, every player evengoal keeper Bradley Molloy who unfortunatley had to come off of the field of play after receiving the ball straight in the face from a shot.
from this Rhys Daltrey wanted to go into goal as keeper which left manager Gary thinking is this the correct move.
Well it was as Rhys showed some excellant goalkeeping with several saves from some quite good shots from Markhall, this all happened in the second half as at halftime markhall were leading by only one goal.
The performance in the first half was so good it just showed how much these boys have come on.
Manager Gary would just like to say well done to every player who played today you played as good as markhall and he fills that if luck could have been on Elsenhams side abit more we would have scored at least one of our chance we had.Alsothe defending was brilliant today even from Christian who probably had his best football match of the season.Well Done CHRISTIAN.
.............................................WELL DONE FROM MANAGER GARY .........................................................................

MAN OF THE MATCH WAS AWARDED TO RHYS DALTREY
Elsenham v Harlow Town U7 Reds  - 13 January 2008
Venue:
Elsenham Rec
Score:
Elsenham 3-4 Harlow Town U7 Reds
Scorers:
Owen Palmer,Alex Best,Rhys Daltrey
This match seemed to be ours or each player (12 of) all thought it was, which did seem to be right at half time as the score was 3-1.
The match started so well with each player passing the ball with excellence which led to Owe Palmer scoring first. This seemed to put Elsenham into another gear with Rhys Daltrey playing probably the best football of his life taking on several players and sliding a neat ball through to Alex Best who then slid the ball past the opposition goalkeepe. Nice one Rhys.
The third goal was then scored by Rhys Daltrey just to end a perfect day for Rhys.
Then unfortunately with so many players the team was swapped about at half time with players playing in positions that they did not really know, so along came Harlow to make the score 4-3, but this was not that Elsenham did not try with Rhys,Dennis,Alex and some other players all scrambling for the ball at the end right in the goal area of Harlow, but that ball just would not cross the line and the goal post just kept getting in the way.
Chins up boys for next week as manager Gary is still so proud of you All WELL DONE.
MAN OF THE MATCH was awarded to Ryan Westcomb.
Risden Wood v Elsenham  - 6 January 2008
Venue:
The Link
Score:
Risden Wood 1-1 Elsenham
Scorers:
Owen Palmer
This was the closet match of the season so far as both teams were so evenly matched.
The play was good to watch but for some unknown reason everyone seemed to be scared of the ball,so this is a good thing to work on in training.
With the score at 0-0 at half time some substitutions were made with Ryan Wescomb being placed in defence until unfortunatly Ryan got the ball hit into his face and his bottom lip was split and was bleeding,so off came Ryan so he could be cared for.
Excellant block RYAN,and yes this is the first injury of the season.A good record to hold Ryan.
Also in the second half when Risden Wood had a corner Elsenham all of a sudden had two goal keepers or so Owen Palmer must of thought as he caught the ball in both hands which lead to Risden Wood being Awarded a Penalty.Unlucky Bradley who almost pushed the shot over his crossbar.Score now at 1-0 Elsenham or Owen Palmer seem to go into another gear as owen got the ball in his own half and with only one thing on his mind which was what happened as he scored the equaliser.this sent manager Gary into his normal
celebration frenzy running round half the pitch cheering.
Nice play Owen also well done Rhys.

What a fine way to end the year another win.

For the 1st half both teams were evenly matched with the half time score was at 1-1.This came from Harlow Town Scoring first and Owen Palmer scoring for elsenham to pull the match back level.Game on for the second half
After a good talk at halftime Elsenham scored their second goal which was scored by Dennis Earle,2-1. Dennis was also awarded
MAN OF THE MATCH
Harlow Town once Again pulled a goal back 2-2
But good old Elsenham just seem to go into another gear and were passing the ball so well it came to Rhys Daltrey who crossed the ball
over to Alex Best who scored with quite some ease,3-2.
This was close to the end of the match so it meant for a very tense few minutes but the boys held on.
Merry Christmas Boys

Score:
Elsenham 4-0 Langley Colts Trojans

Yes another win to the under 8s.
This match started off with both teams evenly matched until some excellant team play starting from defence where the ball was playedforward to Alex Best who passed onto Rhys Daltrey who had probably his best game for skill levels of the season so far.
Rhys Daltreys pass through to owen Palmer was of such good quality it left Owen Palmer in the position of one on one with the Langley Colts goal keeper and of course Owen was not going to miss his chance,Good Goal.1-0
Next came another good worked goal from the whole team that gave Alex Best his first goal of the match.2-0
Alex Best still kept his best until the second half when all off the Elsenham spectators were quite amazed when Alex was out on the left wing and started coming inside towards the goal when he let go of an outrageous shot that some people may have thought was a cross but in the net it went 3-0.
Finally the fourth came from some good play again especially Joshua fernandez-Hayden and the ball was in the keepers area with players scrambling for the ball when Rhys Daltrey was in the right place at the right time just to tap in the loose ball.4-0

Another superb display by the under 8s again.
It started off with both teams quite even in the play but eventually Alex best scored the first of Elsenhams goals which lead to some good team work along with some good indivdual play from especially Owen Palmer who today unfortunatley did not score but he gave a real team performance.
Next the following goal that was scored was dealt with by Rhys Daltrey and came from a peace of good skill and a good pass from Albert Greenhaugh,With the score at 2-0 it was again upto Alex Best to make it 3-0 for half time.
At the start of the second half Langley colts scored to make it 3-1 then came the best play from Elsenham all season and this left Rhys Daltrey scoring two goals to give him a hattrick for the day.
This was now 5-1 and the game was over.

Score:
Saturn 1-4 Elsenham
Scorers:

Another match where the manager is left feeling really proud of the under 8 players.
For the majority of the first half the score was being held at 0-0 until Owen Palmer had the ball just inside the Elsenham half and he past one Saturn player to find himself on his own facing a goalscoring oppotunity which he took remarkably well, so this made it 1-0.
Next after a short while Rhys Daltrey was fouled inside the penalty area, which meant our first penalty of the season which was left for Rhys to take (of course no pressure. NOT) the manager could not watch. GOAL. 2-0
Then came the Saturn goal 2-1.

Second half starts with a couple of substitutions which didnt seem to change the team as again each player played really well with some outstanding passing that led to Elsenham's third being scored by young Albert Greenhalgh for his second of the season.3-1
Then came the fourth which of course the boys kept the best until last .Again it all started with Owen Palmer on the ball in his own half and he then passed forward and out wide on the left to Rhys Daltrey who then crossed the ball straight into the path of Alex Best in front of goal .He Scored 4-1. A PROUD MANAGER AGAIN

The under 8s should be so proud of themselves each player played so well it was a dream to watch with the passing and positioning.
The goal was scored in the first minute by Alex Best, this came from the kick off where some good passing saw Alex through on goal
where he kept his head up and kept his nerve to put the ball past the goalkeepers right side.GOAAAAAL.
From this the team seemed to be boosted as the passing skills of Owen Palmer and Rhys Daltrey Just seem to get better as the match

This was the best team performance of the season and made manager Gary so proud.
The whole team needs to be congratulated,so one final say WELL DONE BOYS

Elsenham Football team also like rugby its seems especially watching England.
But heh the boys looked first until they went 2-0 down then the goals seem to keep coming from markhall.4 at half time which could have been alot more if not for some super goalkeeping from Bradley Molloy.
Then came the 2nd half and after some sturner words form the manager it started to kook better especially when Owen Palmer slide the ball through the middle straight into the path of Albert Greenhalgh who took the ball further towards the goal and bang straight into the net 4-1 looking better.
Then Markhall seem to step up another gear and they scored again. From this Rhys Daltrey was moved form Attack to Defence along side Jack Hart who were both outstanding in the last half of the second half.
The one goal scored by the Elsenham under 8s is the first goal to be scored against Markhall this season we were told but their manager so good one boys keep up the hard work.WELL DONE

Langley ended Elsenham’s winning run with a comprehensive victory at the Recreation Ground. Only a few minutes into the game, Langley won a corner, which was unfortunately knocked into his own net by the Elsenham’s keeper. The away side doubled their lead minutes later to give the Greens a mountain to climb. The hosts fought hard for a way back and did so when Owen Palmer cut in from the outside and hit a shot which the Langley ‘keeper was just unable to stop crossing the line. Palmer then provided a great ball for Alex Best to run on to, but some strong defending by Langley snuffed out the chance. Shortly before half-time, the visitors restored their two goal lead with a great shot into the top corner. Langley continued to press in the second half and scored twice more, a lead which Elsenham were unable to reduce despite all their best efforts. Well done to both sides for an honest and fairly fought contest.

The under 8s come good yet again without conceding a goal which gives goalkeeper Bradley Molloy his first clean sheet.
The match started off reasonably well when Rhys Daltrey scored the first goal which was set up by Alex best passing the ball
through the middle into Rhys's path so as to leave Rhys facing the oppositions goalkeeper on his own,A nice touch from Rhys put the ball into the net.
Half time came with the score at 1-0 and after some team talking and some apples to build up the players energy the goals started to flow in the order of.
1, from Alex Best, 1 from Owen Palmer, A second for Rhys Daltrey, A second for Alex Best and Finally a goal for the player who was also named man of the match Dennis Earle.
Once Again the boys played so well the passing of the ball in the second half was outstanding and from this each boy is now anle to see what happens when playing as a team.

The under 8s first win and WOW did they play well.
From kick off the center forwards played back to midfield who then passed forward to Owen Palmer who today was outstanding,
His passing was quite obviously one of the main reasons why the team had such a great day.Our first goal which looked like Joshua Fernandes-Hayden was to get his name on the score sheet was actually an own goal,Then the second came from some good team work and was scored from close range by Rhys Daltrey,Next came the third which again came from another own goal. Then came the fourth which was taken from inside the Elsenham half with some good passing the ball was slid through to Christian Barker who kept his nerve well and shot to the left of the oppositions goal keeper into the back of the net.
Man of the match was awarded to joshua Fernandes-Hayden who played really well but the whole team played so well their manager Gary is a happy manager.Keep it up Boys and one final say WELL DONE.

After playing a great team and being 2-0 down at half time the Elsenham under 8s came out to pull one goal back, scored by Owen Palmer after some good passing football. Unfortunately, after this players started to forget their positions and Harlow Town scored three more goals. Bradley Molloy played brilliantly in goal and saved many more tries at goal. Unfortunately, in the dying seconds Rhys Daltrey took a free kick from outside the penalty area but hit the post. Well done boys - keep your chins up for next week! Elsenham v Epping  - 9 September 2007
Venue:
Home
Score:
Elsenham 2-3 Epping
Scorers:
Owen Palmer, Alex Best
Elsenham's youngsters staged a strong second half comeback in their first ever game together, but were just unable to repair the damage caused by a slow start against more experienced opponents. The game had barely started when Epping won the ball from the opening kick off and scored with a well struck shot from 15 yards. Two more goals quickly followed for the away side as Elsenham's defenders pushed up too far and forgot about the striker before them. Some words of half-time advice from manager Gary seemed to have the desired effect as the Greens came out like a team transformed. Callum Parris won the ball and passed to Owen Palmer who steered the ball home to the delight of the watching masses. Alex Best then got a second to set up an exciting finale. Rhys Daltrey and Albert Greenhalgh worked tirelessly to set up more attacks for the hosts, while Jack Hart's solid defending and some good saves from Josh Fernandes-Hayden kept Epping out at the other end. Despite some near misses, Elsenham were unable to find an equaliser, but can be proud of a great fightback. Well done boys!
